Support for Donald J Trump?
I have a question for those of you who wholeheartedly support Donald J Trump. In particular, for those of you who are Christian, especially the evangelicals. And I’m not trying to be combative, rude, or condescending. I’m honestly interested in how you can support this man in light of your Christian beliefs.
I am a born again Christian and there is just no way I can support this man or his actions, especially the adultry, multiple marriages, lies, misogyny, hate filled Tweets, racism, and cheating. That’s throwing aside all the members of his campaign team and administration officials who have been convicted of some type of crime. He’s always bragging about doing more in his first two years in office than any administration in history. Well, on one point he is correct, he has had more of his campaign and administration officials plead guilty or be convicted of a crime in that time period than any other administration. And he is approaching the first term record. With all of the investigations going on, he is almost certain to break that record. I don’t care how many judges he puts on the bench, how many regulations he does away with, or executive orders he issues to bypass congress. Of course, I certainly realize that one of Christianity’s main tenets is forgiveness. But forgiveness and salvation are based upon the confession of your sins, repentance and asking forgiveness of God as you dedicate your life toHim. When asked if he had gone to God to ask forgiveness, he replied that no, he had not because he felt he had never done anything in his life that needed forgiveness. This reply was anything but repentant. And one might say his adulterous behavior was years ago but if you believe the words of the Bible, this just isn’t so. He cheated on his wives and divorced them and remarried. By having 3 living wives, according to many denominations considered evangelical, he is continuing to commit adultery to this day. And has made an adulteress out of Melania.
Let’s take a look at a few bible passages to help make my point, all are KJV unless otherwise noted:
On adultery:
Ø Matthew 5:27
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
Ø Matthew 5:32
But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
Ø Matthew 19:18
He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness.
Ø Mark 10:11
And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.
Ø Mark 10:19
Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
Ø Galatians 5:19
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Ø Revelations 2:22
Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.

For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth; the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their force [is] not right.
Ø Malachi 3:5
And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in [his] wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger [from his right], and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.
Ø Corinthians-1 6:9
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
There are many, many more passages dealing with this subject matter but I think these are sufficient examples. And I didn’t even go into the Old Testament where it is specifically outlined that the adulterer should be taken to the gates of the city and stoned to death.
On lying:
Ø Proverbs 6:16-19
16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
Ø Colossians 3:9-10
9Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue [is] but for a moment.
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

Again, there are many other passages but these should suffice.
On strangers/immigrants:
33 And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him. 34 [But] the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I [am] the LORD your God.
And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in [his] wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger [from his right], and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.
Cursed [be] he that perverteth the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.
Also thou shalt not oppress a stranger: for ye know the heart of a stranger, seeing ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
And if thy brother be waxen poor, and fallen in decay with thee; then thou shalt relieve him: [yea, though he be] a stranger, or a sojourner; that he may live with thee.

And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless.

Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from any brother who is walking in idleness and not in accord with the tradition that you received from us.
Ø 1 Thessalonians 5:14 ESV
And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all.
On forgiveness/redemption:

but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.
On vengeance:

May the Lord judge between me and you, may the Lord avenge me against you, but my hand shall not be against you.

Proverbs 20:22
Do not say, "I will repay evil"; Wait for the LORD, and He will save you.

"But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. "Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him the other also; and whoever takes away your coat, do not withhold your shirt from him either.
Never pay back evil for evil to anyone Respect what is right in the sight of all men. If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, "VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY," says the Lord.
There are many other passages we could go into concerning Trump’s actions but I feel that might be redundant at this point. So again, given all this bible guidance, how can you as Christians support this man who has openly said he has never done anything requiring forgiveness?
